Mr. Lott joined the firm in December 2003 and
specializes in all areas of commercial litigation. Mr. Lott was
elected as a shareholder of the firm in January of 2007. Prior
to joining the firm, Mr. Lott was an attorney with Latham &
Watkins LLP for three years, where he handled commercial
litigation and environmental matters.
Mr. Lott received his J.D. from the
University
of Alabama in
2000 and was ranked academically in the top 5% of his class. He
was one of three members of the school’s moot court team and was
named one of the top ten oral advocates in his class (Order
of the Barrister). Mr. Lott was also a Senior Editor for
the Alabama Law Review and was elected to the Order of
the Coif upon graduation. In addition, Mr. Lott served as a
judical extern during law school for the Hon. Edwin Nelson,
United States District Court for the Northern District of
Alabama. Mr. Lott received his B.S. in Business Administration
from the
University
of Alabama
and received an M.S. in Environmental Management from
Samford
University.
Mr. Lott was named by Los Angeles Magazine as a
“Rising Star” in 2005, 2006 and 2007 – a distinction reserved
for just two and one-half percent of attorneys in Los Angeles
and Orange County who are under 40 years of age.

Mercator Momentum Fund v. IDI
Global, Inc.
, 2007 WL 2200302 (Cal.App. 2
Dist.) (Cal.App. 2 Dist. Aug. 2, 2007). Obtained pretrial
dismissal of securities fraud case brought against an officer of
defendant IDI Global, Inc. and successfully argued the matter
before the Court of Appeal, where the trial court ruling was
affirmed. All claims brought against the officer were
dismissed on jurisdictional grounds.
McCabe v. Dell, Inc.
, 2007
WL 1434972 (C.D. Cal. April 12, 2007):
Obtained pretrial dismissal of class action complaint on behalf
of defendant Dell, Inc. Plaintiff claimed that defendant,
in manufacturing its Dimension 4600 model desktop computer,
obtained defective power supply units from a supplier which
caused the computers to fail prematurely. All claims were
dismissed pending arbitration.
Hsieh v. Ho, 2006 WL 2692865 (Cal.
App. 2 Dist. Sep 21, 2006): Obtained complete affirmation of
$8.3 million judgment based on claims of fraud and breach of
fiduciary duty in connection with multi-million real estate
financing arrangement.
Chalk v. T-Mobile USA, Inc., 2006
WL 2599506 (D. Or.
Sep 07, 2006): Obtained pretrial dismissal of class
action complaint on behalf of defendants T-Mobile USA, Inc. and
Sony Ericsson Mobile Communications (USA), Inc. Plaintiffs
alleged that defendants misrepresented various facts and
circumstances regarding a mobile internet plan and hardware
device. All claims were dismissed pending arbitration.
Targus Group International Inc. vs. Mace Group Inc.,
2005 WL 2931923, (Verdict and Settlement Summary) (Cal. Superior
2005) (NO. 03CC11056): Obtained $6.8 million judgment against
defendant Mace Group, Inc. on multiple causes of action,
including misappropriation of trade secrets, unfair competition
and tortious interference with contractual relations.
