(Gina) is a partner at the law firm of Call, Jensen & Ferrell, whose trial practice focuses on employment and commercial matters. Ms. Miller has extensive experience handling complex commercial litigation matters, including trade secret, employment discrimination, wrongful termination, employee mobility, class action wage and hour disputes, harassment, disability discrimination, whistleblower actions, sexual harassment investigations, and unfair competition. Los Angeles Magazine named Ms. Miller a Southern California Rising Star (top lawyers under 40) in its 2005 and 2006 annual survey. This distinction is reserved for just two and one-half percent of the attorneys in Los Angeles and Orange County. Rising Stars are lawyers who are under 40, or who have been practicing ten years or less, selected for excellence in the practice of law.
Ms. Miller has represented clients in the environmental, department store, banking, software and medical marketing fields. She has also provided counsel to clients in the real estate, aerospace and educational industries.
Ms. Miller was awarded a Doctor of Jurisprudence degree from the University of San Diego in 2000. Ms. Miller received American Jurisprudence Awards in Employment Discrimination, Civil Rights Litigation, and Bankruptcy. Ms. Miller became a member of Phi Delta Phi in the fall of 1998.
Representative Litigation: Obtained dismissal of a whistleblower wrongful termination suit against one of the world’s largest air pollution control companies. In obtaining a complete pre-trial dismissal of the action on summary judgment, we successfully urged the Court to find that plaintiff did not participate in a protected activity. In the end, we obtained for our client a post-judgment award of costs.
Successfully prevented the issuance of a preliminary injunction against a travel marketing company for alleged trade secret violations.
Obtained a preliminary injunction in Orange County’s Federal District Court against a former independent contractor of one of the nation’s largest manufacturers of industrial safety products. Upon issuance of the preliminary injunction, the former independent contractor immediately agreed to a favorable settlement with the client.
Represented one of the nation’s largest distributors of pharmaceutical products in a disability discrimination suit filed by a former order filler. After filing several pre-trial motions which threatened to end the litigation in its entirety, the parties reached a favorable settlement.
