John T. Egley

John T. Egley is the Managing Shareholder at Call & Jensen and one of Orange County’s most accomplished employment and business litigation attorneys. With a practice built on protecting California employers in high-stakes disputes, Mr. Egley brings courtroom-tested strategy to every matter, from wage and hour class actions to complex commercial litigation.

Mr. Egley has shaped California employment law at the appellate level, serving as counsel in two published appellate opinions that established significant precedent for employers statewide: Esparza v. KS Industries, L.P., 13 Cal.App.5th 1228 (2017), and Cortez v. Doty Bros. Equipment Company, 15 Cal.App.5th 1 (2017), both of which provide employers across California with stronger footing in defending employment class actions.

His track record includes defeating class certification on behalf of an oil industry client, winning summary judgment for a national retailer against discrimination and wrongful termination claims and securing numerous defense judgments and dismissals for employers throughout California.

Mr. Egley’s business litigation practice covers copyright disputes, trade secret litigation, contract disputes, and real estate litigation, often intersecting with his employment practice in cases involving departing employees and competitive business conduct.

Recognition & Leadership

Mr. Egley has been repeatedly selected as both a Southern California Rising Star and a Southern California Super Lawyer by Super Lawyers for multiple consecutive years. He is a member of the Orange County Bar Association’s Labor & Employment Section and the Association of Business Trial Lawyers and is a frequent lecturer and seminar leader for Human Resources professionals on California employment law developments.
