Kyle R. Bevan

Kyle Bevan is a business trial lawyer at Call & Jensen. He has tried 25 cases to jury verdict. His practice spans cases from Lanham Act false advertising and trade secret misappropriation to civil rights litigation under the First, Fourth, and Fourteenth Amendments. Clients retain him for disputes that may need to be tried, and for the leverage a credible trial threat creates in those that settle.

He works on both the plaintiff and defense sides, in the hospitality, technology, fitness, consumer products, financial services, and sports and entertainment industries. How Kyle Helps Clients

What kinds of business disputes does Kyle handle? Kyle represents companies and business owners in breach of contract, business tort, trade secret, unfair competition, and false advertising matters. As lead trial counsel, he has won jury verdicts on Lanham Act false advertising, intentional interference with contractual relations, and unfair competition claims. He handles disputes from pre-litigation demand through trial and works on both the plaintiff and defense sides.

Does Kyle handle trade secret and non-compete matters? Yes. Kyle litigates trade secret misappropriation, non-compete, and non-solicitation disputes, including matters involving departing employees and executives. Because he also practices employment law, he sees these cases from both the company’s and the individual’s perspective.

Does Kyle handle intellectual property and brand disputes? Kyle’s IP practice focuses on brand protection and enforcement, false advertising, and unfair competition.

Does Kyle handle real estate litigation?  Kyle litigates real property disputes throughout Southern California, including purchase-and-sale disputes, HOA enforcement, easement and boundary disputes, and commercial lease litigation.

What is Kyle’s trial experience? Kyle has tried 25 cases to verdict: five civil jury trials as lead trial counsel and 20 criminal jury trials as a Deputy District Attorney. Actual courtroom experience shapes how he builds a case from the first filing, because the strongest settlement position is a case the other side believes will be tried.

What kinds of employment cases does Kyle handle? Kyle represents both executives and employers in severance and equity disputes, as well as in wrongful termination, retaliation, and harassment matters. He has particular experience with executive-level disputes involving equity, commissions, and bonus structures.

What industries does Kyle work in most often? Kyle’s work concentrates in hospitality, technology, consumer products, financial services, and sports and entertainment. Each industry has its own conventions around contracts, compensation, and competition, and knowing those conventions matters because the same legal claim often plays out differently depending on how a business actually operates.

Where does Kyle practice geographically? Kyle is based in Newport Beach and primarily represents clients throughout Southern California, including Orange, Los Angeles, San Diego, and Santa Barbara counties. He has tried cases in California state superior courts and in federal district courts across the region.
